Kufsteinerland and the surrounding mountains ensure your perfect skiing holiday! Varied yet manageable ski areas offer something for everyone, whether you are a beginner, returning skier or a family with children. One of the world’s largest ski areas is in the immediate vicinity, the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental. The Kufsteinerland ski bus provides free and convenient access to skiing fun in the snow. Ski schools on site ensure the perfect swing and make your first steps on skis a pleasure. You can also hire your equipment directly on site.

At the arte Hotel you can expect cosy double rooms, a delicious breakfast, a heated ski room and a free ski bus right outside the front door. The KufsteinerlandCard is included on your first day of arrival. In the evening you can continue your “après-ski” in our wine bar Vitus & Urban or in the old town. We are also just 5 minutes from the railway station.

SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser - Brixental

The SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental is one of the largest and most modern ski areas in the world. A ski area of superlatives – 9 direct access points, 270 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes, 19 valley runs, 83 modern cable cars and lifts. Experience the vastness, size, freedom and variety of pistes against a unique mountain backdrop with panoramic views of the Wilder Kaiser and over 70 3,000 metre mountains. The pistes on offer range from beginner, family, pleasure and frequent skier pistes to runs for real experts. Over 80 family-run huts invite you to take a break and enjoy Tyrolean specialities. Three fun parks and adventure pistes bring fun to the snow. Illuminated toboggan runs and Austria’s largest night skiing area turn night into day.

Kufsteinerland offers you easy access to skiing fun in the region and the neighbouring ski areas. From the largest interconnected ski area in Austria, the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental, to the family Eldorado in Thiersee. With the KufsteinerlandCard, which you receive at the hotel on the day of arrival, the ski bus journey is also free.

Cross-country skiing

Skating, in classic style, for beginners and advanced skiers. The choice of different cross-country trails in Kufsteinerland is diverse. Cross-country skiing trails are groomed in almost all eight picturesque villages in Kufsteinerland and in the natural fortress town. The cross-country ski trails with the best snow conditions are located in the higher areas of Kufsteinerland such as Bad Häring, Thiersee and Schwoich. In Schwoich, the snow-covered Stöffl trail provides perfect cross-country skiing enjoyment even when there is little snow.

The best way to take your first steps in big disc boots is with a guide. Explore remote places with trained mountain guides from Kufsteinerland and enjoy fascinating resting places to recharge your batteries. The guides know the area inside out and are familiar with the potential danger spots, especially in winter with avalanches and the weather conditions. Insider tips and the most beautiful places in Kufsteinerland can also be found on the guided snowshoe hikes as part of the region’s weekly winter adventure programme. The Thiersee ski school also offers guided tours in Thiersee.

Tobogganing

Around the natural fortress town and in the eight picturesque villages of Kufsteinerland, numerous well-prepared forest and woodland trails await tobogganists. Before heading down into the valley, the restaurants along the toboggan runs invite you to warm up and enjoy Tyrolean specialities. Toboggans can be hired at some toboggan runs.

Ice skating

There are numerous opportunities for ice skating fun in the natural fortress town and the eight picturesque villages of Kufsteinerland. On artificial ice rinks and, weather permitting, on the Hechtsee and Thiersee. Glide over frozen lakes, do pirouettes on the ice rink. There are also covered ice arenas in Ebbs and Kufstein.

This custom has become a sporting pleasure. Curling in the middle of the lake, surrounded by the whole forest bathed in white. On ice skating rinks or in the middle of the natural landscape of Kufsteinerland, when winter transforms the lakes into smooth sheets of ice.
