Kufstein Fortress has been a popular excursion destination for over 800 years. The panoramic railway takes you up to the fortress, where exciting guided tours and museums with interesting exhibitions await you. You can also dine like a lord of the castle in the fortress restaurant. Kufstein’s impressive landmark offers exciting and varied programmes for all ages.

Take the Kaiserlift Kufstein up to the mountaineering paradise in comfort – pure nostalgia! Following its refurbishment in 2015, Tyrol’s oldest lift slowly takes you up to the Kaiser. The single chairlift takes you from the valley to the Brentenjoch mountain station. Once you arrive at over 1,200 metres above sea level, an unspoilt natural paradise awaits you – the wonderful Kaisergebirge. Here you will find various hiking trails, panoramic peaks, traditional huts and places of awareness.

The Kaisergebirge in the Tyrolean Alps is a nature reserve. It includes all the peaks of the Wilder Kaiser and the Zahmer Kaiser. The 102 km² nature reserve of the Kaisergebirge is now known for its special energy. This energy is particularly noticeable at five selected locations. Popular hiking routes lead through here as well as various themed tours.

With 4,948 pipes, the largest free-standing organ in the world fills the fortress town with heroic sounds. The sounds of the Heroes’ Organ can be heard far beyond the town of Kufstein. The Heroes’ Organ Concert can be heard daily at 12.00 noon in Kufstein Fortress.

A look behind the scenes at the Riedel Glass Manufactory in Kufstein! Look over the shoulders of the glassmakers as they produce glass art in the glassworks, go on a journey through the world of glass at the “SINNfonie” and experience it with your own senses. The Tyrolean glassworks offers all this and a 300 m² shop.

The Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens have been attracting and enchanting visitors since they opened in 1995 to mark the company’s centenary. At this unique place of fantasy, you can experience crystal in all its facets. Whether it’s the giant, his garden and his chambers of wonder or the crystal cloud with mirror water, you’ll never cease to be amazed here.

The Erl Passion Play has been an integral part of the Tyrolean cultural landscape for 400 years. Every six years hundreds of villagers come together to herald in the passion play in Erl according to tradition. The venue, the Erl Passion Play House, was built especially for the passion play. Known for the distinctive scene design of the stations of the cross and modern texts, the Erl Passion Play is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A charming old town where you can immerse yourself in the fortress town’s past. Here, the history of Kufstein comes to life in small, historic alleyways with traditional houses. In Römerhofgasse in particular, you can experience Kufstein as it once was – historic restaurants tempting you with culinary specialities, the world’s largest gin gallery in the Stollen and the legendary Auracher Löchl with its attention to detail.

The oldest Haflinger stud farm in the world, the Fohlenhof Ebbs, is located directly in extensive meadows with a view of the imposing Zahmer Kaiser. This is where the Haflinger Museum is located, revealing the origins of the Haflinger. Some of the exhibits are over a hundred years old and some exude a touch of Hollywood. Some of the saddles, which are over 200 years old, were used in the film “The Forgotten Valley”, which was shot in Tyrol.

SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser Brixental is one of the largest and most modern ski areas in the world. A ski area of superlatives – 9 direct access points, 270 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes, 19 valley runs, 83 modern cable cars and lifts. The free ski bus takes you directly from the hotel to the SkiWelt in just 15 minutes.

Following on from the Advent trail in the centre of Kufstein, the landmark of the fortress town will also be dressed up for Christmas this year. Regional handicrafts await you in the festively decorated fortress arena. The fortress restaurant will tempt you with regional delicacies.

The contemplative and traditional Advent in Rattenberg enchants young and old alike. From dusk onwards, the town is illuminated by warm candlelight. Torches and open fires also light up the streets.
