Danube cycle path

With its 260 kilometres, the Danube Cycle Path is probably the most popular long-distance cycle path in Austria and also the one most worth seeing. Impressive gardens, Roman towns, castles and beautiful natural landscapes await you along Europe’s second largest river. Sunny box seats along the Danube and lovely hospitality at numerous gourmet stops make the Danube Cycle Path a wonderful holiday backdrop for your perfect cycling experience!

Choose from a total of 17 stages (6 in Upper Austria) and discover cultural and historical highlights along the long-distance cycle path – whether with the whole family or on an e-bike.

From the Pöstlingberg tram, the viewing platform and the photo gallery to the zoo, the Pöstlingberg offers more than just a breathtaking view over the city and the Danube. At the top of Linz’s local mountain, you can enjoy coffee and the best Linzer Torte in Linz. You can take the Pöstlingerberg tram to the very top of the Pöstling or back down into the city from the very top.
